Acqualina Resort, FL: Children’s Program Now Complimentary to Guests

In celebration of Acqualina’s 5th Anniversary and the Fodor’s Choice Gold Award as one of the Best Hotels for Kids and Families in the United States, Acqualina further enhances its position as a family destination resort by making its children’s marine biology inspired program, AcquaMarine, available to hotel guests on a complimentary basis.

This summer Acqualina has an exciting agenda consisting of a colorful array of themes for children ages 5 to 12 such as Arctic friends, Whales, Sharks & Rays, Junior Guards, Sea Lions, and Walruses.

What do these fun-filled days consist of, you may ask? An all-time children’s favorite is Whimsical Waves where children discover the wonderful world of waves by taking a look at the anatomy of waves and investigating the effects they have on our environment from a small swell to the Tsunami. Children also learn how waves are created and how much fun waves can be when they learn how to skimboard and body surf. Each child makes their own wave to take home with our “Making Waves” project. Other themes being featured this summer include:

  • A day of “Acqua Patrol” activities, which teach kids about the world of the Coast Guard during a beach boot-camp relay and kayak-rescue mission; boating and fishing safety games; a life-jacket fashion show and service-award presentation
  • The “Junior Guards” beach-awareness workshop, which teaches children all about what it takes to be a life guard
  • The “City Under the Sea” program that explores the mysterious underwater city known as the reef through snorkeling and the creation of an “edible reef.”

Relay races, games, swimming, arts & crafts, eco-explorations, obstacle courses, building projects, trivia challenges, and scavenger hunts are also all part of the many  children’s activities offered by the Acquamarine program.
