Having physically researched and written a book on Italian Hideaways, the swoon-worthy scenery of Tuscany’s Val d’Orcia was not unfamiliar to luxury travel advisor Meg Nolan. Still, she wasn’t expecting Monteverdi Tuscany’s“evident authenticity.”
“Given this is Tuscany, there’s an abundance of high-end properties, many of them quite stunning, each promising an entry into the local lifestyle,” says Meg. “But unlike its neighbors, Monteverdi doesn’t do so in a silo. Simply waking up at Monteverdi Tuscany offers an intimate glimpse into Tuscan way of life, albeit just a tad more comfortable than the average. Its location inside a real-life, breathing Tuscan village – with a hilltop Etruscan ruin and functioning bell tower – ensure that the immediate surroundings provide ample exposure to the signature beauty of the land and its soothing pace.
“And that is to say nothing of the mesmerizing views. To simply sit and stare out from one of the various seating areas laden across the terraced grounds is a small, but pure luxury, indeed. Even on the days of inclement weather, it was difficult to contain the swoon.”
