JCR is thrilled to welcome Llao Llao Hotel & Resortin Argentine Patagonia to its collection. A sister property of Alvear Hotels, Llao Llao was originally built in 1938 by noted architect Alejandro Bustillo. And in the decades following, has had several incarnations. Its most recent being one of style, beauty and respite.
Only a two-hour flight from Buenos Aires, Llao Llao is set in the Argentine lake district, surrounded by the Moreno and Nahuel Huapi lakes and snow-capped Cerro Lopez and Tronador mountains. “The setting is dramatic, jaw-dropping,” says JCR founder Janine Cifelli. “And designed in the style of Canada’s great ski lodges, with its exposed timber and grand stone fireplaces.”
Summer activities here include golf, spa, archery, birdwatching, mountain biking, kayaking; while winter brings skiing, a ski school and snowboarding.
Rooms at Llao Llao are divided into two sections, each with distinct personalities – the historic (and original) Bustillo wing, and more contemporary (added in 2007) Lago Moreno wing, featuring larger rooms, with terraces and Jacuzzi. There is also a presidential suite and stand-alone, two-bedroom cottage with its own deck and garden.
Child-friendly, Llao Llao is home to five restaurants, and known widely for its traditional high tea, served overlooking the hotel gardens and Nahuel Huapi Lake.
